Foundation Programs

The Foundation offers a limited number of scholarships available to qualifying Virginia High School Seniors. The scholarship award may be used for expenses at any accredited two or four-year college, university, business school, or technical/trade school. Minimum GPA, extra curricular activities, and community service are also considered.

The Teacher Mini-Grant Program is designed to fund academic enrichment activities supporting a core curriculum area and not otherwise included in a school budget. Examples of approved funding projects include; classroom supplies, new technologies, field trips, and continuing education for teachers.

Donors may choose to permanently endow Student Scholarships and/or Program Funds established in core curricula areas. Funded by a principal gift, the endowment's invested annual return provides financial support for the scholarship or academic program on an annual basis in perpetuity. Typically these permanently endowed scholarships or program funds are named for a family member, alumnus, distinguished educator, or citizen with exceptional community service.

Projects supporting schoolwide learning outcomes are accepted by the Foundation on a rolling basis. Projects are funded by external funded entities (individual, family, and corporate foundations.) As such, projects - in addition to meeting BVPS curricula requirements - should also strategically align with the potential funding partner's stated project funding priorities. Typically, projects on this scale require one year for research, project development, and grant submission prior to the project period.
